Her mother died during childbirth. A few days after he brought Alexis home, Carlisle noticed that she growing at and exceeding rate. He was intrigued by this and took notes on her. She is half human half vampire. Because of this, she has two abilities, unlike most vampires. She has the ability of self-control, like her father. She can control herself around humans.
