From the writer of Sweet Spot, comes the sequel of two familiar characters you already saw coming. Harper Davis has many titles: marketing connoisseur, almost-lawyer, disappointment to parents, and most importantly: liar. Big. Fat. Liar. But what else is a girl supposed to do when her overachieving parents ask her if she's in a relationship? It's bad enough they think she's incompetent, but single at the age of 31? Is there a cliff to jump off around here? And thanks to her big, fat, lying skills, Mr. and Mrs. Davis are flying into town to meet Harper's alleged boyfriend. The non-existent one. The "I'm about to be caught in the act" one. The "it was nice knowing you guys" one. Enter Sawyer James. He also has many titles: douchebag, womanizer, know-it-all, and just about any colourful insult in the book. The one title Harper didn't expect him to have? Boyfriend. Fake boyfriend. After years of working in vicinity and being known for their competitive nature, Harper never thought she would agree to fake-date the office hunk. But she's short on time and options and she can (frustratingly) admit that no one could play this part better than her work enemy. The "he probably sucks in bed" enemy. The "okay fine that's a lie" enemy. They say never to mix business and pleasure, but it doesn't count if it's pretend...right? *A hilarious reverse grumpy x sunshine, office romance, and fake dating rom-com. COMPLETE Let me make this crystal clear, because you don't seem to understand," he said, his voice deceptively calm, but laced with venom. "I paid for you to be my wife. That means you do what I say. You're mine now." He flicked a check toward me, and it fluttered to the ground between us. I couldn't look away from him, though my chest tightened in panic. My hands shook as I fought back tears, refusing to let him see me break. But he wasn't finished. "What did you expect?" he scoffed, eyes narrowing. "This is what gold diggers like you get. Money has a price, and now you're paying yours. Enjoy it, wife." Without another word, he turned and walked away, leaving me standing in the massive, empty living room-speechless, breathless, and drowning in disbelief. I never expected this. © MaryRose 2018. Danielle and Dawson. Abby and Julian. Two couples who found love in the middle of mayhem are about to discover what comes after the big "I do." Spoiler: it's a whole lot louder. Between midnight feedings, kindergarten graduations, and one overexcited puppy who thinks he's in charge, Danielle and Dawson are juggling a new baby, energetic twins, and a six-year-old who never stops asking questions. Meanwhile, Julian has traded his bakery apron for stay-at-home-dad status, wrangling a toddler with a talent for catching squirrels and a kindergartener who believes he's destined for superhero greatness, all while Abby balances consulting work and wondering when she last watched a TV show without talking vegetables. Add in meddling in-laws, sibling squabbles, and a family road trip to Texas with Damien as the world's worst babysitter, and you've got a recipe for love, laughter, and just the right amount of chaos. Because sometimes the real story isn't falling in love... it's keeping it together when life gets messy.

I've dreamed of the perfect marriage ever since I was a little girl: a marriage complete with a hardworking husband while I tended to the home and our children, preferably four little rugrats to call my own. I dreamed of a life filled with laughter, joy, and success, a life we built together. I dreamed of growing old next to my husband, creating a great love story to tell our grandchildren someday. It all seemed so possible. I was raised to be the perfect wife, after all. From the outside, it seemed I had exactly what I dreamed of with the rich, determined husband; the brilliant, gaudy diamond ring; and the beautiful home filled with the hope of future children. Yes, it was all a dream come true. I should have felt grateful, really. The problem is, I also wanted a marriage based on love, passion, and affection, but those are the only things my husband cannot give me . . . . . . because they're reserved for her. It takes a lot of courage to publish your work and for others to actively engage in a community. I'd like to keep this a safe and fun place to rage at imperfect heroes and cheer for darling heroines! * I'm not a spicy writer. I rather use my word count for plot, character development, and GROVEL!!! * Most importantly, I hope you enjoy the little world I'm creating. Happy reading, everyone! ADS/Imaginationgirl35

She's a single mom with something to prove. He's a burned-out pastry chef with walls taller than his layer cakes. The kitchen isn't big enough for the tension simmering between them-but neither one's backing down. Abby Meeks is no stranger to hard work. As a single mom to a spirited three-year-old, she's used to juggling chaos with a smile and a to-go coffee. So when she lands the manager position at Marino's Bakery-Baltimore's trendiest new café-she's ready to prove herself. What she's not ready for is Julian Marino. Julian walked away from the high-stakes D.C. pastry scene for a quieter life, but he didn't count on hiring a manager who challenges his every decision... or whose laugh sticks with him long after closing time. Abby is too stubborn, too creative, and far too distracting for a man who's sworn off complications-and she's made it clear she's not looking for anything more than a paycheck and a fresh start. But flour flies, cinnamon ratios are challenged, and the heat between them starts rising faster than his sourdough starter. When secrets from Julian's past surface-and Abby's carefully balanced world threatens to tip-the line between enemies and something more gets dangerously thin. Because sometimes the recipe for love starts with a little too much spice... and ends with something sweet like hello.

AMBY AWARDS TOP PICK 2024❤️ I can only see half of his face, reflected in the mirror at the front of the bus, and part of that is obscured by the peak of the black company-branded cap he's wearing. But I can see enough to glean that there's a strong jaw covered in scruff. A wide mouth that looks like it would be prone to smiling. He's wearing glasses with trendy light tortoiseshell frames, and I can't quite discern the colour of his eyes from my position . . . but some weird intuition is telling me that they'll be hazel, and I wonder when my brain is going to catch up. Because I *know* him, don't I? I'm almost certain of it. And he seems to know me, too. Or at least he thinks he does. The way he's glancing over at me lets me in on that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mirren Shepherd has *many* pet peeves. Top of the list, though? Staycations . . . And surprises. So when her girls' trip abroad is cancelled at the last minute and she finds herself roped into a minibus tour of Northern Scotland instead, she isn't remotely happy. And when she finds out who their guide is . . . It's yet another reason for her to dislike surprises. Because Owen Sullivan wasn't so much the one who got away . . . He was the one who just didn't return. And, after she finally got over him, she never expected to see him again. Mirren would prefer to leave the past in the past, but Owen is determined to try to right his wrongs. Can she trust him? Can she trust *herself*? AMBY AWARDS TOP PICK 2023 ❤️ "You think I can't act like I'm into you?" He asks in a whisper. He reaches out, and strokes a finger down my cheek, and I feel myself shiver at the touch. "You think I can't convince everyone that I have feelings for you?" His eyes are darker than ever, and any sign of a smile has now vanished. The only word I can think right now to describe him is "smouldering". I have searched many great romance novels (and even more sub-standard ones), and I am yet to find a better synonym for that particular word. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Abigail Watson has always played by the rules. She also constantly strives to be the best at everything she does. So when her boyfriend Declan decides to turn their temporary break into a permanent break-up, she starts to seriously doubt her girlfriend skills. Her new flatmate Ric tells Abby she's not the problem, but how can she believe *him* when he's one of the most annoying guys she's ever encountered? However, when she needs a fake boyfriend to save face in front of Declan, Ric might just be the only man she can turn to . . . Practice Makes Perfect offers you some forced proximity, enemies to lovers, a dash of fake dating, pub quizzes, flatmate frustrations . . . And - of course - an annoying ex, because doesn't everyone have at least one of those??? ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cover by @LNRoberts1 ❤️
