You're someone who just wants to know a little bit more about the living world around you or your green neighborhood, plants. Good news . . . this book is your oyster! Read it at your leisure, starting with whatever topic fascinates you most. I include several examples of how biology impacts everyday life to help keep your interest piqued. If biology is the study of life and life is so complex, then you may be wondering where to even begin in your study of biology. Never fear. This part breaks down the all-encompassing field of biology into smaller, more palatable chunks. First, we take a look at the living world and then explain exactly how biology is studied (hint: the scientific method is a huge part of it). Next, we give you a review of the types of molecules that are important to a cell's functioning (yes, this means delving into some basic chemistry; sorry!). Then we spotlight the most basic unit of life - the cell. Every organism, whether it's a human, a dog, a flower, a strep throat bacterium, or an amoeba, has at least one cell (most actually have millions). Finally, because cells need energy to function, we explain just where that energy comes from. Biology is the study of living things - how they reproduce, how they change and respond to the environment, and how they obtain the energy and matter they need to grow. One goal of this part is to immerse you in the world of biology so you can understand how biologists go about studying living things and know what chemical components make up all forms of life. Living things with many cells, like you, are made up of organ systems, organs, tissues, and cells. Cells are the smallest entities that show all the properties of life, so that's where we begin zeroing in on things. The other goal of this part is to acquaint you with the structure of cells and how they obtain the energy they need to function.

Writing help from an English/Creative Writing major. This is practically a free writing class. It's full of useful writing tips and tricks that I've picked up in my writing career/common mistakes found while editing others' work. I hope you can find use out of this. I add to it every time I think of something else that beginners would find useful. These are in no particular order, so feel free to refer to the Table of Contents to skip to a topic that you're interested in. **I am currently working on rewriting and editing this into a real book, which I'll publish on Amazon** PS: I am rarely ever on Wattpad, so if you message me, I'm very unlikely to answer. I'm not ignoring you; I'm just not on here anymore. Please vote for this so more people will see it and be able to use this! Also, if you have any questions about writing, comment or message me and I'll help. I'll also add chapters at your request. If there's a particular aspect of writing you'd like advice on, I'll post it. It's marked as completed, but I add to it when I think of something else. "YOUR BOOK HELPED ME A LOT!!! THIS IS THE BEST BOOK FOR NEW WRITERS THAT I HAVE ENCOUNTERED ON WATTPAD" -dpe281 "This helps so much!! ^^ thank you thank you thank you!!" -Just_Katyftw "this was so useful thank you!" -Galaxysfaraway "That's so helpful! Thank you! :) " -fandomsmember Best Rating Yet: #2 in non-fiction!

A collection of my boring essays I've written so far in college. A various group of essays, from History and English classes to Film classes. From topics of Mesopotamian society, feminism, zombies, and pyschopaths. (BEWARE: most of these will be horrible, because I hate writing academic papers and I suck at formal styles.)
