Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, son of Stoick the Vast, Chief of Berk, faces a defining test: kill a dragon and become a warrior. But he can't. Not out of cowardice, but because in the eyes of the beasts, he sees a reflection of himself-fear, loss, and a desperate need to be understood. On the night of his escape, he uncovers a truth that changes everything: dragons aren't monsters... they're victims of a far darker order. Fleeing to the frozen far north alongside Toothless, his Night Fury, Hiccup crosses paths with Bjorn-a battle-worn old man whose haunting past is carved into his eyes, and whose three golden earrings echo an ancient prophecy. Bjorn, too, is a man running from his shadows. In this harsh exile, Hiccup builds a new family: Ragnar, the silent, wise strategist; Erik, the impulsive youth whose deepest wounds aren't the ones you can see; and Alda, a girl who escaped the slave trade, though her past remains a heavy chain. Together, they become the "Shadows of the Night Fury"-masked vigilantes breaking the chains of dragons and slaves alike, defying the ruthless wrath of Drago Bludvist, the most feared dragon hunter in the Archipelago. But as they fight to save others, a dark spectre draws near: Iivar. The ghost of Bjorn's past, a brother turned killer, and a man obsessed with proving that mercy is nothing more than a noose we tie around our own necks. In a brutal clash that promises only bodies and shattered memories, Hiccup must learn that some scars never heal-and some losses alter us forever. Yet even amid the ashes, hope ignites. In the eyes of a child, in an unfinished promise, and in the heart of a young man who refuses to become the monster they expect him to be.

What if Hiccup never returned to Berk after the battle of Dragon's nest? What if he flew away and build a place where he truly belonged? Four years ago, in the aftermath of the battle that changed Berk forever, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III vanished beyond the edge of the known world with Toothless at his side. Berk remembered him as the boy who challenged centuries of tradition and proved that Vikings and dragons did not have to be enemies. But as seasons passed without word or trace of him, hope faded into memory, and memory into legend. Beyond the familiar waters of the Archipelago, however, lay a far greater world-uncharted seas, forgotten civilizations, warring tribes, and territories where strength determined who survived. It was into this merciless frontier that Hiccup disappeared. And four years is a long time for a boy to change. Now, war has come to Berk. Stoick the Vast prepares his people for a battle they cannot afford to lose, while those who once knew Hiccup are forced to confront a future increasingly defined by his absence. Then the sky changes. From beyond the borders of every map Berk has ever known, a new power emerges-vast, disciplined, and unlike anything the Viking world has encountered before. At its center stands a figure surrounded by rumor. A ruler whose banners are carried across distant seas. A warrior spoken of in conquered halls and liberated lands. A man whose rise has quietly redrawn the balance of power across the world. And when the paths of Berk and this expanding realm finally collide, old relationships will be tested against new loyalties. Fathers and sons, chiefs and kings, warriors and dragons must confront a difficult truth: the world they once understood no longer exists.

When Hiccup's final test in the Kill Ring does not go as planned, he runs away, sure that nothing he can ever say will change Berk's mind. At least he's not alone though, and with his cousins and several dragons by his side, they leave the archipelago. Of course, not all is smooth sailing and Hiccup's emergence as the Dragon Master earns him more than one enemy. Eventually, it also draws the attention of Berk, who are suffering from increased raids and struggling to survive. Desperate, they reach out to him for help, but will he deem them worthy and willing to change their ways? I don't own How to Train Your Dragon or its characters, just my OCs.

"Everything we thought we knew about them is wrong." On the lonesome island home to the village Berk, it's always been kill or be killed. In this case, the residing Vikings would much rather fend off the raiding dragons instead of search for a new, safer home. That was the Berkian tribe. 15 year old Aisling Winslow has fought to appeal to her mother's expectations, as being related to the great Stoick the Vast comes with strict ideals she must uphold. Just like how she must succeed in defending her home against the bloodthirsty beasts. And be top of the class in dragon training. But, when one incident involving a misfired arrow-courtesy of her vicious older brother-leads to the discovery of a wounded Night Fury in the woods, she must make the decision on where her loyalties lie. With her people, Or with this dragon, who doesn't make her feel overwhelmed with demanding requirements or forced obligations. Well, except for bringing said Night Fury food. That's expected of her. When Hiccup is caught freeing dragons, the truth never gets a chance to breathe. Astrid sees him and, out of fear and loyalty, tells the village. By morning, Hiccup is branded a traitor and exiled from Berk - no trial, no explanation. He disappears without a word. And soon after, Berk begins to suffer. Ships sink. Supplies vanish. Fires spark in the night. No one is ever hurt, but the message is clear: someone is watching, someone who knows them. No one suspects Hiccup. Not even Astrid. But when she stumbles upon his old sketches and maps, the truth crashes down: the boy they cast out is the one behind the attacks - and the boy she betrayed is slipping into something darker. Wracked with guilt, Astrid sets out alone by sea to find him. Not to bring him back. Not to stop him. But to ask for forgiveness. And maybe, if there's still time... to save him from becoming what they made him.
