Shadowhunters are at war with Demons and their children, the Warlocks. Alec Lightwood is sent to the enemy's palace to find and break into it's archives. He hopes that hiding in plain sight, acting as a usual mundane servant will stop the warlocks and demons from looking his way. Much to his discomfort, Magnus Bane, the son of Asmodeus, starts to talk to him, turning out not to be as cruel as his father. Will the Shadowhunter be able to hide his identity and conflicted feelings?

Alec lived a plain, normal life, primarily focusing on school. When his family moved to New York he intended to keep it that way. Magnus, a boy from his grade developed an inscrutable interest in him and unfortunately, Magnus didn't come with "normal". * This story will contain mention of slight violence, criminal activities and minatory speech in a later chapter. Alec and Magnus are two agents of the secret services, Alec of those of America while Magnus of those of England. Alec has always been a very smiling person since childhood, but something prevents him from leaving to show others the person he really is. Magnus is the usual person who does what he wants and always says what he thinks, he was raised in a family home. The future of these two boys tormented by what were the agonies of the past will meet, and who knows maybe they can heal each other.
