Emery is a 20-year-old gal fresh outta college and a bad relationship. So, like any typical, bummed-out young adult, she starts the routine of partying out with her friends every weekend. That is, until she meets the one and only Daniel Seavey. Drunk as hell, they have a one night stand: nothing more, nothing less. But she soon realizes she's missing her monthly and reluctantly takes a test... only to find out she's pregnant. She's heartbroken, as her life has already started falling apart. Will she ever be happy again? Has she found happiness? Or is it gone forever? Preview: ~~~~~~~~ I quickly excused myself and ran outside to take a big gulp of fresh air, trying desperately not to yak in front of everyone else. I sat on the outdoor bench, one hand clutching my stomach and the other clasping my face. Tears prick at the edges of my eyes, threatening to dribble down my cheeks. I press my hand tighter against my face and my nails begin digging into my skin. A few women pass by my bench on their way inside, each glancing at me with empathy written across their faces. I look up once from the ground and meet gazes with a middle-aged woman. Her eyes are full of pity. ~~~~~~~~

Samantha is your typical high schooler. She's just trying to get by with as little slip-ups as possible. She wants people to see her for who she is. Smart, intelligent, and nice. But there's something that makes her a bit difficult to get along with. She's deaf. No not death, deaf. She can't hear one bit, and she's scared that's what's going to define her at her new school. "The deaf girl, followed around all day by someone who speaks for her." But that's not her at ALL. She isn't "the deaf girl", the girl who can't hear, the girl who can't speak well, the girl with the weird things in her ears. No. She is SAMANTHA.
