Lina Jackson, a beautiful black girl living in the Deep South, struggles to cope with finding her identity amid the racist turmoil that plague Coloreds during that terrible time. Lina not only has to fight for her self in the chaotic streets of Mississippi, but also in the very home that she grew up in. Wanting her Mother's love but never receiving it finds her in a lonely and broken place. As the color of her skin becomes the center of rising tension between her and her Mother, Lina begins to doubt her self-worth and value as a young black girl in the South. Will she ever find her true self as she battles between Color-Struck black people and prejudice whites?
