In a world of giggles and sunshine, 14 year-old Isabella stood apart. While most children reveled in daylight antics, she found her joy beneath the stars, relishing the hush of night and the thrill of horror films. Her emotional resilience was striking for someone so young, setting her apart from her peers who often clung to innocence. If you've finished reading this book, you can move on to the second one titled "She Blushes, I Bite." It's the sequel to "Looks Can Be Deceiving."

But shadows hang over Santa Carla, and Mallory doesn't know if her family will survive the storm that's brewing in one piece. Will she continue to be the calm to her brother's storm? Or will these mysterious bikers manage to convince her to let loose and live for herself? "Threads of blue will meet threads of gold, A life on the end begins the journey, Follow the star, and do not hesitate, Threads of blue may join the threads of gold, Or threads of blue may cut golden threads short, Follow the blood, and choose an eternal moon. Follow morals, and choose the predictable. Fear not the Lost Boys, and you'll be safe. Fear not Peter Pan, and the ice may be thin, The Neverland calls. Youth answers. What will your choice be?"

FINISHED AND COMPLEATED She thought pain was love-until she met monsters who showed her what real darkness looked like. Despite everything she's endured, she's still standing. Still here. She may feel like she doesn't belong anywhere, yet she remains steadfast. No matter what comes her way, she continues to smile, laugh, and wear that innocent mask. She bandages her own wounds, offers help with bloodied hands, and believes the bruises are just another way her parents show love. Because how else is a 14-year-old supposed to understand affection when the only love she's ever known has come through violence, harsh words, and cold stares? She walks out of rooms with fresh bruises and calls it normal. She smiles anyway. She stays anyway. But in the shadows of Santa Carla, where vampires rule the night and danger wears a charming grin, she'll learn that love can be twisted-and sometimes, survival means unlearning everything you thought love was.
