She has a son who is fourteen, he has a daughter who is thirteen. All their lives they've worked side by side, and never knew their kids knew each other. When Ryan asks Kailey out, Amelia meets Kailey's dad, Owen, who she's known all along. She knows she can't fall for her son's girlfriend's dad, but it's so hard. He knows he cant fall for his daughter's boyfriend's mother, but he can't help himself.

Amelia becomes pregnant with triplets.

Amelia has been through a divorce, which results in having full custody of her three children, Emma, Joey, and Izzy. She relocates her family to Seattle after the messy divorce to be closer to her brother Derek, and his with Meredith along with their three kids, Zola, Bailey, and Ellis. "Owen! I'm home. Whatever your making! it smells amazing!" I call. I put my keys in the dish by the door, and walk around the boxes at the end of the couch. "Owen?" I call again, maybe he didn't hear me. I hear a crash come from the kitchen. "OWEN!" I run to the kitchen to see him on the floor, clutching his chest, trying to breathe, but failing miserably. "Oh my!!........." With shaking hands, I pull my phone out and dial 911. The rest comes in a blur. I've called 911 a hundred times, but there's only one other time that's felt like this. Ryan. I thought I was over that, but I feel like I'm living it all over again.

Set after their break up in 12x16. Amelia tells Owen that she cant be with him, they go their separate ways until a bump in the road changes Amelia's path.

When Amelia and Owen decide to separate, Amelia feels very lonely, but with the news she was going to tell him, she remembers that she isn't alone... *set after 14x05*
