New job, new city, fresh start. If she could only ignore the magic, strange creatures and weird family history that plague her every step, Alice Gray 'might' have a chance at a normal life and new boyfriend. Probably not though, normal isn't really her thing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ In the wilds of rural Lancashire, England, in 1612, the members of the famous Pendle Coven were rounded up to be tried and executed. Or so Thomas Potts told the world in his account of the events. But all was not as it seemed. One survived. Her name is Alice Gray. In modern-day England 25 yr old Alice Gray is haunted by strange dreams of a woman like her, but not her. Thrust into a new reality, Alice must find her place into a world where witches and vampires thrive. And if that wasn't enough, they all want something from her... Spin follows Noah and Lilah, a young couple on the run, committing crimes across the south in a post-second-civil-war America. Living on the fringes of a broken society, Lilah empathizes with a hitchhiker they run into at a truck stop, and after convincing Noah, they decide to take him along on their way back to their hometown, Midnight, Mississippi. They soon discover the man is a creole war veteran with an odd disposition and a ton of stories to tell, some so bizarre they're hard-pressed to believe him. Being on the road gives them plenty of time to reflect on these strange tales and delve into their own pasts, remembering their childhood and the decisions that lead them where they are. But, when strange things start to occur and secrets start to be revealed, they realize too late that they've been lead into a web so tangled, they might not make it out. Spin is a southern-gothic inspired, slow-burn thriller with an underlying romance. It is told in dual perspectives with dual timelines and is rated mature. ⚠️Strong themes of sex, crime, language, abuse, drug use, and violence carry throughout. 🔞18+ recommended.
