Note: This version was scrapped when I began a dual POV rewrite of this story. See my profile for the newest version. *** Christian Ryder may be seen as a heartthrob by the majority of the world's female population, but to Sophia Hastings, he might as well be the newest addition to the gorilla exhibit at the zoo. Sophia is a young, aspiring actress with big dreams who swears having to work with Christian Ryder wouldn't be worth all the fame in the world. Christian is a cocky womanizer whose world is turned upside down when he realizes his new leading lady just so happens to openly hate his guts. Is it even possible for Christian and Sophia to learn to get along long enough to make a movie, or will hatred, scandal and childish games destroy their careers? *** I blankly stared at him for a few more seconds before randomly exclaiming, "Oh, my God!" "What?" "Christian, thanks to you, I now understand what people mean when they say you're 'dark and handsome.'" He smiled smugly, like he was about to pop his collar. "I knew you would eventually." "They mean that when it's dark, you're handsome!" The smug look on his face disappeared. "I hate you." *** Contains spoilers to Kidnap My Heart. The unedited 2012 version is also available on my profile.

He had spent centuries with only himself for company, he fed, tortured and killed that was his life and he liked it that way, until she came along and stirred something in him, something he couldn't and wouldn't accept. “If I were you I’d keep that stake sharp. Don’t expect anymore visits like this, next time I come I expect you to use that thing,” he told her pointing to the stake on the bed, and then he was gone.

She grew up in a world different from his. While he conquered battles, she read books and studied history. While he led an entire pack of wolves, she drowned in knowledge about the realm they live in. While lives hang in his shoulder, she was taught not to associate with any of his kind. But they knew all too well to know that fate does not work like that, and people who are destined for one another, will meet no matter how big the differences between them are. --

"DON'T DATE THE TALENT!" is a well-known rule for the underlings at the venerable Robert Abraham Agency. Fantasies are business, not personal, at RAA. Confusing the two has left countless hearts, futures and bank accounts, empty. This directive hasn't been a problem for twenty-four year old, aspiring screenwriter Amelia "Millie" Stevens. She's been known to flirt of course, since stroking egos is part of the deal when you work with actors. However, Millie won't compromise her future for anything less than a blockbuster with series potential kind of love, and certainly not for a b-movie lay. So she knows where and when to call "CUT" on the action. Two years ago, Millie competed against her well-connected and wealthy peers, to land a coveted spot in RAA's mailroom trainee program, along with a pitiful salary for the privilege. Since then she's worked her way up (although her paycheck says otherwise) to an assistant's desk in the commercial department. Desperate to make her dreams come true, Millie spends her days tethered to the phone lines, and her nights completing coverages of other people's scripts, all while trying to finish her own screenplay in-between. This leaves little time, or money, to do her laundry, let alone date. Then the featured player of Millie's other, more carnal, dreams walks into the office. Fin Covington is the twenty-eight year old, British, supremely-hot, mega-star of a hit cable show. In NYC for some theatre projects, he meets with Millie's boss, and immediately shows an interest in her. The more she encounters Fin, the more she questions the stage directions of her life. Should she ignore the rule and greenlight the affections of this celebrity on hiatus, despite the risk of exposure by her scheming colleagues and the paparazzi? Or should she "PASS" on the summer-long dalliance? As she makes her choice, Millie soon comes to realize that not everything in life can be scripted and sometimes you just have to adlib.
