In the city of Denizli in Turkey, there is a society that follows traditional patterns, being led by an Ahrra of a Clan. These Ahrras are descendants of a Kurdish people, who in the past lived in very strict ways, accepting honor killing, which is still quite common in Turkey. Nowadays in Denizli, the people of this tribe are led by Ahrra Haydar Turgüt, who is a strict man, who does not allow his rules to be broken, but avoids bloodshed at all costs. Upon completing 30 years as Ahrra, Haydar decides to pass on his succession to his eldest son Dogan Turgüt. Dogan lives in Istanbul taking care of the family business, he has a jealous girlfriend, with whom he just has fun, constantly cheating on her with other women in his bed. Upon meeting the beautiful Kiraz, young Dogan will feel what he had never felt before, which is true love, which will change his life completely. Fearing the invasion of a Clan from another city, Haydar attempts an alliance with Kiraz's father, marrying Dogan to her. Kiraz at first rejects him, but will still have a "Forced Marriage with an Ahrra", with whom he will also fall madly in love.

These short stories are for Erkenci kus lovers, those to whom a single shot is enough to relive the myriad emotions that every scene of this wonderful series has given us. However, it is not enough for me just to remember and relive those moments, I want to think that they turned out differently, that Can and Sanem were able to express all their love beyond problems and misunderstandings.

Their lives together on an Island that would be there home. They had put all the trouble of Polen, Fabri and Yigit far behind them. Now all that mattered was making a new start here on this beautiful Island and raising their children. But would their past troubles come back to haunt them.....

Book 3 of "Against the Odds"

Snippets of alternate outcomes in the lives and enduring love story of Can Divit and Sanem Aydin. When I started out with this story, I only intended to loosely base the 'short piece' on the events in Bolum (Episodes) 17 & 18 however, I got such positive feedback, I decided to stretch it out a bit. I'm still unsure how far I will stretch it but so far, I'm enjoying writing it and will keep going till I run out of steam. I can't think of any show/movie that I've watched in recent times to which I have reacted as I did when I watched Erkenci Kuş. The characters hooked their claws into me and wouldn't let go. I rooted for Sanem and Can; cried and laughed with them; railed at and cursed their detractors and finally rejoiced over their reunion. However, the ending was so rushed. After all the angst we were put through with their relationship, I felt robbed of an extended happily-ever-after. What we were given was too short. I hope to right that wrong, amongst others, with this story. Though I only watched the show in Jan/Feb 2023, I have since rewatched it countless times. There were certain parts of the plot which wound me up so much so this is me writing what I wished had happened. Enjoy!
