Gemini Castor Mercer was trained to follow orders from his parents and elders, making it difficult for him to decide things on his own as he grew older. He was used to no arguments, no questions, and simply doing what was expected of him. Even in college, he carried the same mindset. He followed his seniors, kept his head down, and learned to tolerate things he didn't necessarily agree with.
Then there was Fourth Le Fifth Caruso. The new tenant in the run-down apartment building. The strange guy he kept seeing near the training field, sitting on the same marble bench as if he had nowhere else to be, the guy with messy hair, smudged eyeliner, loud music, and a habit of staring for far too long. Gemini couldn't decide whether he was annoyed by him or simply curious.
Fourth was everything Gemini wasn't. He said what he wanted, did what he wanted, and never seemed interested in fitting himself into anyone else's expectations. At first, Gemini found him difficult to understand. Most of the time, he couldn't even tell whether Fourth was being serious or making fun of him.
Still, he found himself listening whenever Fourth spoke. He found himself staying a little longer whenever they happened to be in the same place. Before he knew it, seeing Fourth around had become a normal part of his day. And somehow, the person he once thought was strange became the person he looked for the most.
He didn't know it then, but Fourth was slowly becoming his bad religion.
