Travelling back to the future once more after an adventure in the past Silver finds himself in Onyx City, a technological marvel of a metropolis with more than one problem and issue festering inside it. Meanwhile Gold, the youngest member of the Council running the city, is plagued by visions of destruction and desperate for a hero to help. With both psychics hiding more than one secret and the Council unwilling to listen and perhaps withholding something themselves as well, will Gold and Silver be able to prevent Onyx City from falling into disaster? With Silver injured badly after their battle with the Ifrit, Espio decides to keep him in the past until he has recovered fully, both physically and mentally. However, aiding the guarded hedgehog turns out to be a lot more than he bargained for, made more difficult by his well-meaning but boisterous co-workers and his other friends who might not be as fond of the psychic as he is. With enough care and patience, will Espio succeed in helping Silver adapt to a life in the present and convince him to stay? It has been two and a half years since Silver the hedgehog saved the world with Sonic and Shadow the hedgehog. Now back in his own time zone, Silver is all alone due to the lost of his only best friend Blaze, and his heart has grown with longing, loneliness, and depression. Silver tries to move on by protecting and caring for the people of his time. Finally, after every thing in his life takes its toll, Silver is forced to take a short 'vacation', he goes to the past in order to relax. Sadly, his little trip will take a mind blowing turn when a mysterious dark figure appears in his life, tricking his innocent mind to think ungodly thoughts. This is book one out of five.

After his future was rewritten, Silver found himself in a new world with people claiming to know and care about him. Memory scattered, the hedgehog tries to embrace the sudden changes, but feels out of place. Searching for his purpose in this new world, Silver finds an old friend who remembers everything the way it used to be.
