The gods and demigods defeat Gaea, however during the final battle Gaea gets her revenge, she nearly kills Percy Jackson. The gods realize that the only way to save him is by making him a god. After the Second Giant War Annabeth leaves Percy for immortality. Percy's heart turns ice cold after the "love of his life" leaves him.
