I pulled the window open, craning my neck upwards to meet his gaze. "Stop haunting me." I whispered, voice trembling. He chuckled darkly, resting his elbows on his crouched knees. My voice sounded raspy, tired, hopeless. "Leave me alone." He slowly stretched out his right hand towards me, like the time he had done it at the lakehouse. "I'll help you, Charlotte." I looked down at his hand, then back at his face. His features looked dangerous, his eyes swirling with darkness. "How?" I asked. He grabbed my hand, pulling me up onto the window ledge swiftly, into his arms. Then we fell. ************** I used to think the world around me was simple. It was at the moment I was thrown into the supernatural environment that I began to see how complicated the world really was. I feared for my life. Who could I trust? Then I met him. The puppet master controls the puppet. The puppet master chooses the puppet. The puppet master chose me.

Following the murder of his species' ruler, riots make blood and suffering become Vishnear's daily life. He desires nothing more than peace for his people. The priest's life takes a turn, however, when the primordial deities elect him to be the next leader. They grant him godlike powers, and his people expect him to use them. The problem is he can't summon them-not without complications. Fearing failure, he elicits help from a god, Sytrix, who promises to reveal his true potential. But he finds more questions than answers when a feisty Wikev is captured. Yet, through everything, what Vishnear fears the most is not the threat of war, the awakening of the lost deities, or the budding, forbidden attraction between him and the female Wikev. It's the secret hiding beneath his skin. ***** First draft, so not refined yet. Started as myth shorts (hence strange beginning chapters). Constructive feedback appreciated, especially in chapters beyond chapter 3.

Tales are not just tales. They are a part of the truth we must seek for and find, no matter the cost. "My mission is diplomacy, not murder." Angels are very rare creatures to see walk on Earth - that's certain. Malak must go as a Messenger of Peace to Liberal City of Yash to try and put an end to the war and to give freedom to the Kazjéh who've been fighting for it all their lives long and for generations, supported by the Yashivs and Benan in secret too, Sultane of Impure Demons, offering them a solution. But it turns out this solution doesn't mean what her pure mind thought it could mean and be used for. "I am the one who makes hell arise on the battlefields, but, please, do not fear me, as I am as well the one who's searching for paradise." Barin is a young man who's joined the Third Division of the Army of Justice when he was only eighteen. It's been long since that moment, but Barin still deludes himself into thinking he fights for the Djimanatá and for what his religion taught him all his life long. He was educated to believe that. But fate arranges a meeting for him in a Tavern of Sephrin with the Angel Malak and the Half Demon Donovan. Will he put an end to his regrets and doubts understanding what went wrong and how to fix it or simply escape them choosing damnation? "You're actually a nice person. Only a darker version of that. Because you don't want to show it and they don't want to understand you." Half Demon Donovan shares the huge powers of the devils but not their selfishness and points of view on life. More as a tradition rather than for vocation, he joined the Army of Justice and now is Grand Rector of the Fifth Division. But meeting Malak turns his world upside down too. It's true - a Demon should not seek for a home; he should act only on instincts and desires. But is it true that Fallen Angels cannot love? Even if you don't know it yet. || On Friday the 13th, two twenty-something, Daya and Mike, end up in a mutually beneficial arrangement: she is his caregiver after he breaks his foot; he provides room&board to help her out with a teeny-tiny cash flow problem. What can an overweight man, a video game obsessed librarian, know about her quitting a challenging sport of figure skating, Daya scoffs. He needs to get off her case and sort out his binge eating! What does a celery-chewing skating diva care about his failure as a PhD candidate, Mike wonders. She is just replacing her dreams with his non-existing problems instead of pursuing her one true passion! With the two already teetering on the brink of mutually assured destruction, oil splashes onto the flames when Daya resumes her never-ending quest for skating triumph at Canadian Nationals. (Well, that should make Mike happy, right? Right?) But isn't there *something* worth fighting for *together*? Like, you know, love? COMPLETED. Fall semester. 1997. At a strange Southern college, freshman Tim's eerily prescient Student Handbook tells him he's going to fall in love with 6'6" sophomore Joanie. But Joanie has more important things to deal with than a weird crush - like a creepy English professor, a hallucinogenic drug that's chipping away at her sanity, and a war between rival secret societies that could destroy the University before Tim and Joanie find out if their love is real, or just fiction. Recommended if you like: impossible architecture, books that can tell the future, made-up games with overcomplicated rules, portentous graffiti, secret codes, first love, intense hallucinations, 80s and 90s pop culture, a world that's just a couple degrees off from reality, and a coming-of-age story set in a manufactured community that lets you try on different possible futures - aka college. New chapters of The Boy in the Tunnel post every Friday.
