❃ AWARD-WINNING WATTPAD FEATURED STORY ❃ Still reeling from the fallout of the Battle for the Broken Shore, Khadgar learns Azeroth has less than one month left before Illidan rises again as Sargeras's avatar. While the battle for Illidan's soul rages within the Nether, Khadgar must gather the quarrelling nations, find and breach the Chamber of the Eye, and stop Gul'dan before it is too late. But at what cost? ❃ In the endless void of the Twisting Nether, Illidan wakes, formless. His fallen body--long housed in the Vault of the Wardens--has been stolen, his awakened soul trapped by the immense powers of the Necromancer Gul'dan, servant of the Dark Titan Sargeras. Taken away and hidden deep within Suramar's ruined Temple of Elune, Illidan's body hangs suspended in fel energy, transforming into a powerful dreadlord. Gul'dan, his new master, shows Illidan his destiny. Through Gul'dan's eyes, Illidan's terrifying future unfolds, he is to be the avatar of Sargeras, the Commander of the Burning Legion. He watches, horrified, as he eradicates his home world, consuming all life, leaving Azeroth burning in eternal flames. But Illidan's fight is not yet over. By waking him, Gul'dan has granted him one final chance to settle an ancient score: to bring an end to the Burning Legion once and for all. As his soul drains little by little into the Titan's avatar, Illidan realises he cannot stand against the Legion alone. In so much darkness, there must be light. There can be only one. The memories return, of an age long past, of the one he loved with all of his heart. Even in the silence of the Nether, his heart still longs for her. From beyond eternity, The Betrayer calls to her, asking the impossible. Join me. ❃ Winner of The Wing Awards June 4, 2017 Finalist in Good As Gold Awards Jan 29, 2017 Top 20 The Pursuit of Excellence Awards Mar 20, 2017 ❃ Published in full Nov 29, 2016 © E A Carter 2016 All Rights Reserved

"How did you find this place?" Zia asked the King, speaking for the first time since entering the tent. "I've been searching for the location of your Headquarters for months- years, really." Donathan admitted. "We only found it when we got wind that two new recruits would be coming here today. My men tailed them here this morning and sent for me as soon as they were certain of the location." The tent was silent. Finally Arch said thoughtfully, "You say you come to negotiate?" The King nodded. "Very well, then," Arch said, "I will oblige. If I do answer your plea, can I insure that this camp and all those who live in it will remain protected and untouched?" Donathan nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, I believe you can." "And," he went on, "can I trust that this place will remain secret to the outside world?" "My men are sworn into secrecy," the King assured him. Arch fell silent once again. This quiet seemed to last longer than all the others. Zia wanted to know what he would say, and His Highness and Jay appeared to be in the same boat. "Very well, then," Arch said, stretching forth his hand for the King to shake. "When shall we sort out the details?" Cover made by the incredibly talented @italychick
