Nightmare could see the caution taken in each step, but he could now also see the curiosity, and most baffling, the worry. "Are you alright?" Nightmare couldn't believe it, these spirits, they not only had intelligence, but empathy and emotions as well. They weren't just mindless beasts on their way to destroy everything. Had everything Nightmare been told about these spirits been wrong? -- Or; Nightmare and Dream are not only the guardians of the tree of feelings, but also the dreamscape. They have been tasked with the job of hunting down invading spirits in the dreamscape for years. After an incident involving an apple, Nightmare begins to question why they must drive out these spirits by any means necessary. Or, or; I redesigned Nightmare and accidentally made a whole AU out of it.
