Mai Katō is the daughter of the legendary Sannin Tsunade, the granddaughter of the first Hokage Hashirama Senju, and the late Jōnin Dan Katō. Unfortunately for Dan he will never know he has a daughter since he died before Tsunade discovered she was actually pregnant, to her dismay. Mai is then going to grow up alone with her mother, or rather on her own since Tsunade is not really present for her child, guilt and regret eating her up and preventing her from moving on although she knows deep inside she has to for the sake of her daughter. However, Mai reminds her so much of her late fiancé that she comes to think that it would have been easier to move on if she hadn't had her daughter. The young girl thus feeling neglected and abandoned will have to face many obstacles to overcome and make as well various encounters that will change her life and enable her to grow into a real woman. My name is Rolland and I grew up in an orphanage in the middle of town. I've lived here as long as I can remember. I always tried to ask why me or any of the other kids were here but the woman who ran the orphanage just answered by holding up a sign saying 'I'm busy. Go play, Rolland.'
