First of I will say now, this story is not own. The story belongs to Lady Miya on Fanfiction.net I am posting this story because I thought more people would enjoy it. Now this story is for 17+. Also, it does contain mature content. Once again, I take no credit for this story. I am only sharing it so more people can read and enjoy it. Now, here is a quick part from her amazing story. ************************************ "She is just a girl!" Dumbledore bellowed. The Minster of Magic, Cornelius Fudge, fidgeted. He was nervous. He had never seen Dumbledore this furious before. He just arrived at the Ministry and found a very angry Dumbledore sitting in one of his royal blue armchairs. Carefully, Fudge sat down behind his pompous desk, made of the finest oak. "I have already signed the Contract for both of them, Albus. There is nothing you can do."

He had achieved almost everything he had wanted. He had power and he was immortal. And yet, there were a few things he hadn't achieved. He had not been able to get rid of his fear of defeat. And he had not been able to forget what had happened that fateful night fifteen years ago. If you asked him whether he has rued what happened that night, he would tell you that there's no room for repentance or contrition where there's not even a conscience. Yet he would tell you that although he felt no remorse that did not mean he did not regret. Sometimes you only know what you've had when you lose it. Sometimes it needs loss to inspire perception. Sometimes you need a second chance. And sometimes you get it. ********** This is the sequel to my story "Poison", and I guess it's necessary to have read "Poison" for "Perception" to make sense, so please feel invited to read "Poison" first if you haven't done so yet ;-)

[ EDITING] James Potter was a skilled and talented wizard, his name a renowned one amongst Hogwarts students. Many knew him because of his outstanding Quidditch skills, most because of his infatuation with Lily Evans, but everyone knew he was a key member of the infamous Marauders that tormented the castle on a daily basis. Everyone thought he was an open book, easy to read, easy to keep up with. No one really understood how a chap as charming as James Potter would end up falling in love with Alexis Riddle, a renowned name in her own right, for being Lord Voldemort's little sister that is. But of course, James had always been cursed with having the worst of luck in love, and the fact that his loved one had been conceived under the use of a love potion proved so. Have you ever wondered what life at Hogwarts was really like for Tom Riddle, known by his darker moniker Lord Voldemort? How did he manage juggling life as a student while simultaneously plotting his immortality and tyrannical reign over the Wizarding world? Corinne Carrow, a shy Slytherin witch with a famous family lineage, was certainly not your typical cunning Slytherin. She was the outcast of her very reputable Pureblood family. Throughout her years at Hogwarts, Corinne wasn't fond of socializing much among her peers. That is, until she reached her 6th year, when fate led her to reestablish a friendship with the notorious and tragically handsome Tom Riddle. A complete opposite of Corinne, Tom was an intimidating and brooding character with expertise in the art of persuasion and manipulation. Though for some strange reason, Corinne found herself quite intrigued by him. While everyone else feared Tom and viewed him as potentially dangerous, Corinne overlooked this and saw straight through his dark ways. You may think you know the tragic story of the troubled orphan boy who would eventually become the most feared and immensely powerful Dark wizard in the world. But what you don't know is that the young Dark Lord happened to have one particular companion; one he may have even loved. So if Tom Riddle inadvertently defied his own loveless nature despite all impossibility, what made him not change his ways for Corinne? What made him instead enter a much darker route in life that led him to become the Dark Lord? This is the alternate story of Tom Marvolo Riddle, before he was Voldemort.

And yet, she knew she would never want him to change, because, for her, he was perfect just the way he was, with this emotionless, dangerous, intoxicating way of doing magic. If you had asked her whether this was a love story she would have told you that she knew he wasn't capable of loving and he knew she wasn't going to try and change him. And yet, if you had asked her whether this was a love story she would have told you that the answer depends on what you expect. She knew that he couldn't love, she accepted that he didn't care, but she would die to make him understand.

"Promise me, Cindria! Please!" Tom pleaded, now gripping my arms in a vice-like a grip. "I won't, I won't promise something when I know I'm going to break that promise, Tom," I said shaking my head. I refused to comply with Tom's demands because I knew one way or another, I'd be forced to get involved in what's happening. Whatever was happening. "Fine! You leave me no choice! Nagini!" I heard Tom say, and when he uttered that familiar name, I began to tremble. "Tom...Tom! what are you doing?" I said weakly, raising my hands to his muscled biceps. "Protecting you," he replied, just as Nagini, Tom's huge snake, slithered into the room. I could feel myself becoming faint and I pressed myself into Tom for protection from the venomous creature. He wouldn't. Would he? He would. "Tom...You promised...You promised that it wouldn't come near me!" I began to panic, now trying to get away from Tom, who held me around the waist, tightly against him. "I know what I promised, Cindria, I promise Nagini won't hurt you. She'll just be outside your door, guarding you, making sure nothing happens to you in case you have any ideas," he told me, putting his hand on my cheek. "Please don't do this, you don't have to do this," I whispered, tears making their way to my eyes.
