Running away from their jobs as camp counselors, Ellie and Seb embark on a road trip with unexpected turns en route to their destination - New York. ***** Camp Raukawee was meant to be where Ellie Morrison and Sebastian Lee spent their summer working as camp counselors, but they've had enough. Escaping in the middle of the night, the friends hatch a crazy plan to make their way to New York to visit Ellie's dad, who she hasn't seen since he moved five years ago. Along the way, however, a series of cities and events have the pair not only questioning their individual futures, but wondering what will happen to the growing spark between them as the countdown to adulthood begins. "People hide things up their sleeves. Sometimes it's cool things, like cards, like magic. Sometimes it's sad things, like scars, like depression." Psychological disorders are nothing new to Frankie Anderson. He's been around them his entire life, with his mother being a psychiatrist and all, and they never really bothered him. Until he moves to Ravenview, that is, and his life seems to do a complete 180 from the usual patient-gets-mental-diagnostic-from-Ma-and-gets-better norm. First of all, his new town is weird, including the people in it. Second of all, the town neighboring his is even weirder--people from Ravenview go to Suicideville to take their own lives almost every month. And thirdly, probably the weirdest, most screwed up thing to happen to him yet, he finds himself growing attached to his best friend's suicidal, self-destructive, clinically depressed older brother. And he's never been so desperate to help someone, to show them that there's more to life than pills, a bottle and a gun before it's too late.
