Everyone thinks Mike is deeply in love with Jane/Eleven Hopper. But he doesn't feel that strongly towards her. He tries to convince himself he is by spending so much time with her. But what he doesn't know is that while he's trying to love El, his best friend is broken and trying not to love him. Will is a hurt soul. Broken. He used to have a safe place, Mike. That changed when Eleven came back. It's like Mike forgot all about him. On top of that, he's slowly drifting away from the party. He's getting lost in his depression. His anxiety at it's worst.
