Love the creepy side of Japan? On the surface, all that people hear about Japan is their rich culture, and how weird some of their customs and inventions are. But aside from that, there is a darker side of Japan, including their unsettling urban legends. From different colored toilet paper to a poem that might curse you, this book will show you many of their urban legends are odd and downright creepy. And trust me, they will also show you yet another example of how weird Japan is. Oh, Japan... how I love you so much. The cover art is by an artist named Takato Yamamoto.

"Hope, children, and never once let in. For it is written that a single candle can withstand the darkness, even now, in our most desperate hour." "Though the end days have come at last, and the sun falls for the last time beyond the dim horizon, we must still have hope, being that the unlikeliest of heroes and the greatest and most difficult of adventures can emerge from the darkest of days." ~*~ The gods are silent, and the people's desperate prayers of healing and aid go mysteriously unanswered. Rumors and talk of monstrous, horrific dragons killing anything in sight are whispered in taverns and pubs, with the added murmurs of draconic creatures that stand on two feet like a man followed close behind. When the elven capital of Lyrenbel is destroyed and half its population slaughtered, a chain of events suddenly brings together a disgraced knight, an old dwarf, a mage that hides his insecurities behind a mask of arrogance, a traumatized Sylvari and an orphaned Sylvanaar, and sets them forth on a path that none of them ever wanted to be on. They are expected to be saviors, heroes that come from a child's bedtime story. But they are not fighting against a normal dragon, or other mythical creature. They are fighting against an all powerful god. They carry the weight of the world on their shoulders as they begin walking down their long and winding road, yet they will fight until the very end, despite the tension that grows between them with each passing day. Their chances of success are slim, and if they do succeed, they will not return as the same person. If they return at all. ***book 1 of three*** ***this book is related to my other book, Heart of the Winter King, as it takes place in the same universe, but it can be read without it***

In a world where superpowers make you either a celebrity or a criminal, Aether chose a long time ago where she stands. A metahuman who can change her appearance, Aether is currently on top of the game, the public face of government-sponsored superheroes in United America. She does have her share of problems: petty criminals, annoying coworkers, supervillains who have escaped justice for far too long... and the growing sense that being on top of the game just means having a target on her back. At the other end of the scale, the villain Lucid has just been forced out of hiding and back into the game - by a reporter who paid for her nosiness with her life. Lucid reluctantly joins up with the other supervillains and is immediately sucked into a convoluted scheme that could change the definition of superhumanity. Aether is having trouble trusting her teammates as they scramble to keep innocent civilians out of the crossfire. The question is: if Lucid just wants to quit the game, why is she so hell-bent on taking Aether out with her?

Man has walked the land for a millenia and alongside them stood the Elements of the Universe. Each person is born blessed by one of the spirits presiding over these elements granting them dominion of these powers. The Zephyr clan has long prided itself in the fact that it has produced members in all elemental factions, a feat unseen by any other family which saw primarily one element per clan. Xyder Zephyr lived a normal childhood, but when the time of his coming of age approaches and he is unable to procure nor display ability over an element, he is shunned by the current leader, his own grandfather, and his position as heir to the head of the clan is siezed and offered up to he whom can prove himself worthy in a tournament which would determine the future of the Zephyr name. Without the ability to wield any power, all seems hopeless for Xyder whom desperately seeks to regain his rightful place; that is, until the truth behind his disability comes forth.
