One: that Tord didn't survive the explosion and two: that someone is watching him. When his friends seem to start acting weird, he begins to worry that something sinister is going on behind the scenes, and when he finds himself in this position, he knows why. Tord is back and out for revenge. Especially for the person who put the harpoon through his heart in the first place.
