Neil was the quiet mysterious loner who always sat in the back of class and ate lunch alone. Bailey was the awkward insecure new girl who (even with her unsocial personality) manages to attract friends wherever she goes. Maybe their lives would have been totally different if it hadn't have been for their chance encounter in the hallway on the first day of their junior year. But they did bump into each other, and over time they become friends, more like best friends. Everyone can see the change in Neil. The smile on his face, and most of all the fact that he is letting some one in. Bailey begins to have unfamiliar feelings for him, but she couldn't possibly like Neil. I mean they are just best friends, right? (Written in Bailey's POV- please point out any grammar and spelling mistakes.)

Have you ever wondered what it was like to have a popular ex-best friend? It is not easy. Hi, my name is Celia Evans. I'm your average high school girl. I'm equally a beauty and a geek, I guess. My popular ex-best friend, who also my neighbour in my apartment, is Jason Sanders. He's the captain of the swim team, making him a popular kid and you know how they are. And I have the most terrible luck in the world, seeing as he sits next to me in all my classes and sees me leave every morning cause he's my neighbour. He used to leave with me but he stopped since he started having training in the morning as well. I remember how close we used to be before he joined the varsity team and became popular and full of himself. Another reason I stayed away from him was the overly dramatic and very fangirls that he had. Who doesn't hate drama?

***WINNER of the "BREATHTAKING: A FANTASY AND SCIENCE FICTION NOVEL WRITING COMPETITION!" "You are a secret kept from the world, but not from me." So begins the peculiar message found slipped under a bedroom door on the morning of May first. Theo is the heir to a powerful dictatorship. The number of people allowed to know he exists is few. He has spent his entire life walled up in the Tower, the looming stone monolith from which his father rules over the Land. Merryn is the daughter of political prisoners. She's known who Theo is longer than he would think possible, and she is taking a great risk contacting him via handwritten notes in order to convince him he deserves more than the fate his father has designed for him. She has one month to exchange daily messages with him, to answer his questions and open his eyes to the realities of a world he has never been allowed to see. A revolution is coming to the Land at the end of the month, and if Merryn's notes fail to get their point across, Theo may never live to see the sunrise on June first. A/N: The following letters were originally published each day from May 1st-31st, 2014. As you will see,Theo is allowed to write down a question for Merryn each evening, but you, the reader, won't see these within the body of the story. It may or may not be obvious from Merryn's response what Theo is asking. Part of the fun is guessing what his questions might be, but if you really want to know what they are, a list of those questions is at the end of the story. This story is a re-imagining of Rapunzel. Now, without further ado-I believe a young heir is about to unfold a slip of paper found on the tile floor near his door... Let's see what it says!

As if life wasn't hard enough being bullied and treated like garbage all the time; my loathsome, insufferable seat mate just had to come with his "secrets" and torture my every waking hour. What's the big deal you say? Nothing except for the fact that he's some insanely beautiful Greek God under those nerdy glasses. And now, he lives next door. I'm Sarah and this is my story. Disclaimer: This story was written in 2011. Just so you know.
