Living in Victorian London is not easy. Especially when you are black, a woman and working as a maid for the dreadful Cartwrights. Winnith Harlow qualifies for all of the above, so her life is quite frankly put - difficult. Freedom is all she wants, but it is a right reserved only for men - and the rich.
