Curious about autism? This resource for writers talks about what autism is and how to write an autistic character. Autism is a lifelong neurodevelopmental disability that affects around 1 in 59 people. Every autistic person is different. Most autistic people typically experience some or all of the common autistic traits, which include developmental delays, difficulty mind-reading, sensory issues, need for routine, stimming, and difficulty understanding and coping with emotions. This resource is intended to be autistic-friendly. This is a space for good-faith learning and positivity. It is OK to have questions and to not know things. People commenting in bad faith will be blocked, and possibly reported. (Please do not try to debate mean people.)

Lauren Jauregui is a lot of things. She's caring, she's intelligent and she's beautiful. But Camila Cabello doesn't notice those things when she and Lauren first come into contact. Camila notices her nervous ticks, and how she refuses to look at her, and how she never furthers conversation. At first, Camila takes that the wrong way, and deciding that Lauren is nothing more than a rude girl who happens to have the same friends as her, eventually stops trying to make friends. It isn't long before Camila realises she's been wrong the whole time. (This work may not be posted/copied/reproduced/translated without explicit permission from the author.)

South England, the 3rd July. Summer fills the town with sunrays and midsummer rain, when Iris moves to the so called "Rainbow Home" for disabled teenagers. While she starts to get used to life in the Rainbow Home, her flatmates still deal with their own problems... Hating to see them having so many problems, Iris tries her best to help them, but realizes soon that some of their problems are more grave than expected. A/N: This story is written in British English. If you don't understand some words, ask kindly or look them up! I'm just more comfortable writing British English and speaking something like an Oxford accent (yes, I chose that myself, I'm German.) -TRIGGER WARNING- This story may contain abuse, mild ableism, discrimination, bullying and amongst others depressive thoughts. If you have issues with the listed themes, I recommend you not to read this story. If you do anyway and end up feeling depressed or triggered, don't say I didn't warn you. Thanks!
