(comes after ceaseless) A lot of times life doesn't end up the way people picture it. Ashton had always accepted he wouldn't have kids. He had Gabi, and enough family to keep him happy- until he was told he would be a good dad and couldn't shake the thought. Alyssa had always accepted life as it was. It wasn't a fun or a happy life but she was alive, so she saw that as living- until the accident, which sent her away from everything she knew and loved. And then they both accepted things hadn't worked out with this new change. But it turned out all it took was the right person for them to really understand what living was.

Life hadn't always been so easy for the Hemmings family. Long before private school, spontaneous shopping trips, and their princess Petunia, they lived a stressful life to say the least. Having not left his wife many years ago, and getting custody of his daughter, Luke was drowning in rent bills, court bills, and dealing with a sick kid who just wanted to cling to her dad every second. Relying on other people was his least favourite thing to do in the world, but the life he wanted seemed so far out of reach that there was little else he could do.

SEQUEL TO RESTART / BOOK 5 IN EVOLVE SERIES Things were moving forward for the Irwins (though not officially all Irwins, this is what they called themselves). After a few months of being able to settle down with life, generally everyone was happier and healthier. But, after living in one kind of world for so long, there was a lot for Axel and Alyssa to figure out. Relationships, family, even 'twin things' they'd never faced before. With summer looming over them, and an adoption on the way, the pace was really picking up. And sometimes, you really needed life to slow down.

Parents always say they don't have favourites. Well, most of the time anyway. In some situations it was painfully obvious, like in Maya's. As the youngest, there were high expectations. Even higher when your brother is a doctor, and you're well... a high school drop out. She resented him for getting out of there, and living a life with fancy cars, and houses, and holidays. She thought his ego was probably huge, and that he didn't really like her anyway. But in a time of need, her brother was all she had, and it turned out he wasn't as much of a dick as she thought. In fact, it was that much the opposite that it totally freaked her out.

SEQUEL TO EVOLVE Things were getting better. Well, things were seeming to get better. Relationships were thriving, med school decisions were pending, and Gabi and Luke were getting used to a somewhat normal life again. Things were slightly different. Having the frequent company of Sierra was confusing for Gabi, and knowing what the boundaries were was still confusing for them both. Honestly, it could be kind of frustrating for the three of them to figure out the family dynamic. However they had to make it work, and with plenty of time on their hands it seemed like it could be figured out. But of course, family was never that easy. Especially not when history has a habit of repeating itself.

SEQUEL TO RISK The Hood household were comfortable. Comfortable with each other, comfortable with their family, and comfortable with their routine. But their routine... well, it wasn't going to stay. Facing fears, old habits, and an unfortunate event were just a few of the things ready to make sure the Hoods most definitely didn't have it easy.

Life could change in a split second. All you had to do was be in the right place, at the right time. Sometimes this was a disaster, but others, it turned out wonderfully. And when Calum was faced with this, he didn't know if it would be a disaster, or if it would turn out wonderfully. One person's risk changed it all, flipping his and his daughter's life upside down.
