Mason Marks is a screw up. Every day is a struggle to cough up enough money for rent, to ignore the reek of despair flooding the streets, to stop himself from slipping further into the shadows and slums of Downtown L.A. And he is sick of it. When he's kidnapped by a creature seemingly taken straight out of folklore, his world is flipped upside down--quite literally. There, he is rescued by two strangers who are part of an organization tasked with keeping the peace between the two words: Earth and the land of folklore, Somnium. Though Mason stumbles to find his footing in a world where fantasy and reality walk side by side, he is nothing but determined. Mason has no choice but to fight for both worlds. To fight against the oppressors, those who claim to be on his side, his doubts, and his own inner darkness. *** from readers: "With it's wonderfully diverse and interesting cast of characters, The Los Angeles Lighthouse will take you on a little adventure into a world of pure fantasy and some emotional rollercoasters. Easily my favorite book on Wattpad. Sydney expected to spend his summer lounging by a pool in a glitzy hotel or reading by the fireplace at home. However, when his mother must leave to attend a summit in Germany, and with the rest of his family spread far and wide across the world, he's sent to spend the summer with his cousin Saskia, who unfortunately booked the two of them into a group holiday for "privileged" teens like the two of them. But things only get worse once he finds out, during a date in Saint Petersburg, that his cousin is actually a vampire and that more of his fellow travelers might conceal similar, monstrous identities. As his journey takes an unpredictable turn he could've never possibly imagined, he also finds out someone out there is hunting "monsters" like Saskia and the others teens, some of whom will end up being the best friends he's ever had. "Monsters is a very confusing word... and it might not apply to the things that go bump in the night after all, but rather, to the very people you know and love. The question remains, however... ...is being a monster really such a bad thing?" ------ Inspired by the likes of Twilight, Vampire Knight, Diabolik Lovers and KLAP, but with a decidedly male demographic twist.

NEW VERSION IS PUBLISHED "He squints his eyes at me with an intense glare that makes me squirm. I don't know if it's the intense pain in my shoulder or his stare, but something sends a shiver down my spine. I have now extended to my full height and look up to realize this guy is towering over me, not looking too happy. I become aware of our close proximity and take a step back, averting my eyes from his intense gaze. I clear my throat and fumble with the edge of my apron, looking down as I say, 'Sorry 'bout that.' I hear no response. I wait a moment, then I look up and he's gone." Spencer Hastings knows one thing for sure: he hates Jack Summers. Everything about him. He hates his rude manners, his intense stare, his restless movements. But he just can't lay a finger on why Jack Summers unnerves him so much. Until now. "What did she say?" I asked, cutting him off. It was then that he turned to look at me, and I couldn't look away. The way his blue eyes gazed into mine; the way he looked at me made my breath catch. There was something about Dylan Lewis that had me trapped. No matter what I did I couldn't get away from this feeling inside me. I didn't know what it was, but it was a feeling I could get addicted to. "She told me not to break your heart," he said softly. In that moment I knew what Kelly had known from that morning when I told her what had happened. He could break my heart eventually if he wanted to, and I would probably let him. ......... Alec Brook got a week of detention for an incident involving a fist. There he met Dylan Lewis. With a new friendship, unexpected feelings emerge that leave Alec questioning his relationship with his girlfriend, family and friends. (Edited version of my original story 'Detention Boys')
