Elijah Hastings was that brooding mystery that most persons adored but never thought to solve. He was loved and feared all at the same time. He seemed to have the perfect life but then again, no one truly knew him so I'd guess that was an assumption. And I'd guess the next big assumption was to think that he wasn't suicidal because it turns out he was. And my biggest assumption yet, you make ask? To think he was easy to befriend. ~~ Warning: This story deals with suicide, abuse, drug usage and rape. It contains some amount of indecent language as well.

"Go ahead," I said, backing up against the pink wall of the shop. "Do something other than glare at me." I waited. One, two, three seconds... and nothing. I raised my chin at him. "You're boring me, mute boy." He stepped closer. Leaned toward me as his gaze burned into mine. Then... ❀ ❀ ❀ After three months in juvenile detention, it's time for Romy Pereira to help out with her family's flower shop. And it's not all bad... until they hire Jack Michel to work beside her. He doesn't speak, communicating with glares and scowls instead of words, and seems to be more interested in literal rocks than other human beings. And with an ex-convict mother, her friends drifting away, and the flower shop falling apart, the last thing Romy wants to deal with is Jack's attitude. She'll forever praise the day he screws up big time and gets himself fired, but until that day comes, it's mostly one cold-hearted girl, her silent (but still infuriating) coworker, and a whole lot flowers. *COMPLETED* "You think I'd murder you?" He laughed humorlessly. "I- what?" I stuttered, looking at him with a lost expression. If he didn't want to kill me, what was all of this then? "What's your name, speedy?" He asked after shaking his head. "Why would I-I tell you my name?" I tried to sound brave, but this whole scenario was just freaking me out. "I'll find out, eh?" He gave me a smirk. What? "For what? You can just kill me now. I don't want to live like this anymore." I breathed out. I really don't. His loud and obnoxious laugh pulled me out of my thoughts. What's so funny? "You're funny. But-" He took a step closer and I immediately stepped backwards. "-the stunt you pulled last week-" My back hit the wall and I gasped as he stood only a few inches away from me now. His finger lifted my chin and I gulped. "-was not." His smirk was replaced by a serious expression. His eyes were so dark and captivating, I couldn't look away. "And you know what they say, speedy?" He continued as his eyes flickered towards my mouth. I shook my head and his smirk was back. "Keep your friends close. But-" He clenched his jaw. "Keep your enemies closer."

He was looking at me in a way that me feel like I was already naked. "Feel what?" I asked him, even though I knew exactly what he was talking about. The air between us was so thick, it was almost suffocating. Like we were made of two completely different ingredients that were begging to be mixed together. "This attraction between us, Lilac," he whispered out, placing his hands on either side of my head against the wall, trapping me from escaping him. Not that I wanted to.
