Children shouldn't have to play with IV lines attached to the back of their hands. But they do. Cancer made it so. Here are some stories of some of those brave kids I have met in some of those playrooms. To be honest I never wanted to able to tell these stories. I didn't want to have a reason to go into those rooms. But, as bad luck would have it, I will visit these rooms on and off for a while with my grandson Andre. There is sadness here, but there is also so much hope.

This is a series of stories based on observations I have made while drinking coffee at Starbucks. Years of training as an investigator gives me little choice but to accidentally look into the lives of people I see. I don't do this so I can have something to write about. I do this because this is what I do. It just comes natural now. You would be surprised at the stories that are sitting right in front of you if you just knew what to look for. Cover by @Setalmage

"It's your last few months before college, do you really expect to leave here without living?" Olivia and Oliver Scott, as opposite as twins can get. Oliver is a "Bad Boy" with a reputation to prove it's more then just a label. Olivia is quiet, always trying to keep her head down and get through high school as a drifter. That was until Oliver talked her into going to a post-graduation party at his friends house, a party that ends in a really strange game of Never Have I Ever. What Olivia never expected is Abel, her brother's best friend, to talk her into doing a list of crazy things before she heads off to college in a few months. One crazy list, two teens, and a long road trip filled with Shawn Mendes songs. Nothing could possibly go wrong, right?

These are the stories of the people I have met during my over 20 year career in law-enforcement. They are all true. Some of them are ugly, others sad, but some are hopeful. Some of these people are on paths you can predict, others will surprise you. Whatever the case you will see that we all are a bit closer to each other than you think. We are all human and fall. Some of us get up. Some of us don't. There is something to learn from all of it.
