'Rest easy, Rae. You are safe. No harm will come to you tonight. I swear it.' Rae MacCallahan hasn't fully gotten over the death of her mother, or the mystery of why she was the sole survivor from the crash of United Flight 427. Try as she might, she couldn't shake the feeling that there was something else at play that day, but that was crazy... wasn't it? Her entire worldview is shattered when she finds a mysterious necklace on a beach near her home in Aberdeen and her enigmatic coworker recognizes it as the artifact he has been searching for: the map to find Atlantis. His cagey attempt to convince her to give it up only causes her curiosity to take the reins. Could he help her solve her mystery? The two make a deal that neither of them can back out of. She swears to give him the relic. He swears to teach her about magic and to bring her into the crew that seeks the Lost City. They aren't the only ones who are hunting for the legendary metropolis. Some want to find it for themselves. Some seek to keep it locked away forever. Rae will be forced to learn quickly, or else she'll lose the chance to discover the secrets of her own past, along with her life.

People have often told me that I am charismatic and clever. Many say I'm prideful while some tell me I am arrogant. A cluster of people claim that I am kind and some go as far to call me generous. While all of these can argued upon, I have one trait that will never be questioned again; I do not like owing people debts. I absolutely detest it. I will repay someone's service. Even if that means lying to my crew, abandoning my ship, joining a traveling show, sneaking into a palace, sneaking out of said palace, literally traveling across the entire country of Spain, accidentally discovering that I was in love, and almost dying several times in the process, I will repay the debt I owe.

"They're nothing like your human's stories of fairies. They're not sparkly, small or kind." She inhaled sharply. "They're far from kind and far from small. They're strong and powerful beings that've walked the earth since the beginning just as the mers." Bodhi gazed out the window to the sea. "Fays and mers have warred against each other since the dawn of time." * * * The day that humans manage to capture merfolks and display them for the world to see in an aquarium is here... A mer prince was snatched from his home... An artist named Meredith wins a free trip to the most internationally famous aquarium... Only for Meredith to stumble across the dark truth of the aquarium. The aquarium is only a cover up for a war between two ancient, powerful beings-fays and mers. ____________________________________ *REVIEWS* "Damn, can I just say that this story is so well done.
