Ella's POV: Scanning between the trees and under bushes I tried to find what I thought I might have seen. I heard Brittany shift her weight and then I heard something else. I heard the smallest twig snap deeper into the trees than I could see. "Come on Ell you do this every morning" Brittany whispered, trying to get me to move along without sounding impatient or angry. My face fell and I turned on my heel continuing to walk past her. I grabbed the straps of my backpack and focused on my feet, my hair falling into a curly curtain to hide my face.
