In their darkest times, Evan Hansen and Michael Mell find each other. Both lonely kids dealing with their friends ditching them at a party they didn't even want to attend, they feel understood for the first time in a long time. Cared for. Maybe in the future, even loved. They both want the same thing: to move on. But that proves to be easier said than done. Still dealing with things in their past that are hard to confront, the two boys try and navigate a relationship together while also learning to cope with the stress and self-image issues they both face, along with a secret that could ruin everything for them.
