He saw everything and then he ratted her out. She went away, but now she's back. Silvia Brendor went away to prison for setting fire to her father's boat because of Abe Ronrock, the son of a police officer, who ratted her out to police. And after two years of being locked away, she comes back, seeking revenge on Abe and ready to get her life back in check. But being an ex-con is harder than she thought. Instead of getting back her job as an assistant, she now works for a business renovating yards and gardens. As if that wasn't bad enough, her life gets worse when Abe Ronrock steps back into her life as her "guidian." But it isn’t long before Abe finds himself in the same group as her, thanks to her revenge plot. Silvia knows that Abe’s falling for her and she discovers that this could be the best revenge plot of all. But the more she finds out about his life, and the more he finds out about hers, the harder it gets for Silvia to stop herself from ending up like Abe. Falling for the wrong person. Could they be a perfect match or will she end burning more than just the boat?

Hudson Ellis is good at his job. Somehow, he manages not to annoy people when he knocks at their doors and asks them to contribute to the charity he works for - instead, he gets them to sign up for sponsoring programmes and fish whatever spare change they have out of their pockets. Even the infamously tough residents of New York City are falling victim to Hudson's easy-going ways and wide smile; that is, until one woman renders him speechless with sarcastic refusals and slams her door in his face. Perhaps Hudson would be able to forget her - if it wasn't for the fact that she lives on the same floor of the next apartment over, and they both have floor-to-ceiling windows that allow for a rather generous view into each other's flats.

There in those city lights, there was no her and there was no him. There was just everything and nothing and the spaces in between, like flickering lights against a never-ending, black sky. There in those city lights, there was no love and there was no hate. There was just listening and talking and understanding every single thing, like the 'ready, stop, go' of car-chasers and dream-makers. There in those city lights, there was no sadness and there was no happiness. There was just candid smiles and wasted tears and bottom lips chewed off, like the overflowing boulevard of things unseen. There in those city lights, there was no lady and there was no man. There was just a boy and a girl, who promised to fall in love, not with each other, but in those city lights. Nolan Parker and Clara Lawrence never saw eye to eye. In fact, if you asked Clara she would tell you that Nolan Parker hated every thing about her. They never shared any form of connection besides Alex Lawrence. She was Alex's bratty sister and he was Alex's best friend, they never stood a chance. Five years have passed and almost 12,000 miles have kept them separated, both living completely different lives. Unchanged perceptions and expectations should have kept them apart but when Nolan returns, the foundations of their 'relationship' is sure to change. Their story was meant to end the day Nolan left for Stanford. But what if seeing each other after five years was the game changer? What if this was their one chance to rewrite their relationship or were they always destined to never be more?
