[Formerly Featured/Award-Winning Novella/#2 in Horror] There is something eerie about this village -- this hole of silent, maddened people. In 1922 my Papa told me of a faceless entity that lurks amongst us in our isolated slice of Russia. The locals have kept this horror alive for a century, though the only ones who claim to have seen the Folveshch have succumbed to a life of sightless silence. My name is Stefan Alyovich and the people around me are changing. They slip into worsening madness every winter, and I ask myself: how much longer before I'm the only sane one left? ... The only one left alone with the Folveshch. ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟ • 21,000 word novella • Rank #2 in Horror • Rank #4 in Mystery • Horror winner of Greatbelt U.F Award 2015 • CBY October Book of the Month 2014 • The Cryptic Awards Best Horror Winner 2017 • Wattpad HQ Winter Escapes Reading List • Wattpad HQ Stranger Things Reading List • Fright Top Horror/Featured Horror/Stranger Things Reading Lists • Mystery Paranormal Mystery Reading List • ThePurgeMovie Urban Legends Reading List • TheGallowsMovie Best of Thrillers Reading List • Blairwitchmovie Top Horror/Thriller Reading List • OuijaMovie Top Horror Reading List • IncarnateMovie Top Horror ↟- ↟ - ↟ - ↟- ↟- ↟ - ↟ - ↟ - ↟- ↟ - ↟ - ↟ - ↟ - ↟-

For shop girl Evin, alchemy is an understood part of life. She learned how to brew superior potions at a young age and can't imagine her life without the use of Alertness, For General Pain, and Menstrual Cramp Cure. Though already apprenticed to a local master alchemist, she can't help feeling that there might be more for her to achieve. In a different part of the continent, Master Bricot teaches alchemy at the University of Craestor and is working feverishly at his residency project--translating the sacred document The Facerum--when a student of his approaches him seeking help on an unprecedented issue. And south of Craestor in Daitak Capital, the Seat of the World, Emperor Regent Bryn Beynon can't stand potions or those who make and sell them, believing their use, especially martially, to be barbaric and cruel. His first act when coming of age will be to begin imposing legal strictures on the use and sale of such items. Out in the Wilds of Tief, Craix, who travels alone, has never been safe. Not since she was born. Forever trying to evade her pursuers, she travels across the country, constantly intercepting important messages. And over all people in the realm of Heladrith, a pantheon of powerful gods sits in judgement and benevolence, silent for centuries--but not for much longer. Potent is an original, third-person omniscient, past-tense, low fantasy tale with an ensemble cast of approximately eight characters of different genders, orientations, colors, and classes. --Seeking beta readers for this manuscript! Great job!

In order to do so, he exiled the Assassins and their families to an Island that is a two- day trip by sea known now as Alynthi. It was a place where assassins could train and live without the fear of the common people interfering with their work. The families claimed that they understood but they still feel as if they had been handed the lower end of the stick. Still Assassins are kept on Alynthi until they are recruited by the king. Once recruited they are able to leave the island whenever they please. Until then, none of them are able to leave. As time went on, three Assassins who had been training most of their lives were called upon by the king in order to fulfill a task. Of the three assassins, one was a girl.
