10/18/15 It has been five years to the day that I was taken from my home in Florence. If I'm being honest my life is better now than it was five years ago. To get a better understanding of my story its probably better if I start from the beginning the night my life changed forever. Prologue Elena was a normal sixteen year old girl she has a quick attitude, and a smart mouth with a habit of using her language. She has a life that seemed perfect, but what happens when in one night that all changes. She's taken from her home by someone she hardly remembers only to learn that he has been in love with her since her freshman year of highschool. Will Elena fall for her kidnapper or will she resist him beyond return. Will he learn to let her be on her own or will he push her to where she hates him. Follow the adventures of Elena as she learns what it means to be strong, and learn to love even though who seem like they shouldn't be loved or even given a chance. Cover some by @Angelinacolbe go follow her, her work is amazing.

In light of the abundance of "How to get noticed on Wattpad" tips that mainly focused on promoting one's self, sticking to a "TV show" style of updating stories, basically catering to the needs of a larger audience, I've decided to create a writing style based guide book that will really help writers out there to find their own voice and improve their writing to its best potential. This guide book will cover everything, from plot to developing characters to different writing styles. I will also cover positive approaches to dealing with cliches. Not the "avoid this, avoid that" kind of thing; I was thinking looking at a trite plot element and using the "how can I pull this off" approach. After this book has completed, I will be officially coming back to critiquing stories, this time I'll do weekly critiques of three (3) completed books per week. Every book that passes my test (gets a score of 70% or higher) will be featured in a book called "Wattpad's Greatest Hits." Keep in mind that even though I try to come off as objective as possible, I may still be putting tips that are opinion-based. Also, if I happen to miss out any topic that isn't promotion-related, feel free to message me.

Part 3 of 100 Things You Should Know About Writing will mainly feature writing technique, but I'm due to veer off on some other writing-related tangent. I'll make sure to keep things informative, though. If you're looking for Part 1 (which mainly dealt with creating and sustaining tension), you can find it here: https://www.wattpad.com/story/17586435-100-things-you-should-know-about-writing-part-1 Part 2, which deals more with surviving as a writer (but with some technique advice) can be found here: https://www.wattpad.com/story/35424276-100-things-you-should-know-about-writing-part-2

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Part 2 of 100 Things. For those of you who've missed Part 1 (mainly dealing with the creation and sustaining of tension), you can find it here: http://www.wattpad.com/story/17586435-100-things-you-should-know-about-writing-part-1 Part 2 will mainly be about the craft of writing, or as I like to think about it, How to Be a Writer. I will however, veer off on tangents to answer questions or just because I want to, but I hope to be informative every time I do so. Cover image Copyright Misha Gerrick 2015 All Rights Reserved

This is about writing, as I think of it. Subjects covered will range from plot aspects to characterization, writing craft to just surviving as a writer. Mainly, Part 1 is a comprehensive list of things to do in order to create and maintain tension.
