At the tender age of five, she claims to see a man who she called her guardian angel. Her family thought of it as an imaginary friend that would soon disappear once she grew older. To their dismay, the 'angel' never left. Soon, Felicia's friends would want to meet this man that she always talked about, but she would say, only she could see him. Next thing she knew, rumors spread and her so called friends tormented her through the years till her family couldn't take it anymore and sent her away. Now Felicia, sixteen and broken, is trapped in a highly secured mental hospital. There's no escape and feels that her hopes of ever leaving is just a small, pathetic fairy tale. Yet, in the depths of human sanity, reality is breaking. All those myths and beliefs of demons aren't just stories that children love to be scared of. Maybe, that little angel of hers is more real than the human heart. And maybe, her angel isn't the only thing that other humans don't see.

“You look beautiful.” I try to ignore the warmth that his words ignite in me; a warmth so familiar to me now; a warmth I'll never feel again. What good could it do either of us for me to smile at his compliment? What use is it for me to tell him how good he looks? Where's the point in reminding him that I still want him? We both know our feelings have no influence over what is to happen. What has to happen. Tears sting my eyes, but I blink them back. There's a yearning in my stomach so intense I feel like my soul's dying. Maybe it is. The thought of anything happening to him is enough to strike me catatonic, and yet here I stand, poised to kill him.
