Enjolras knows it's the end of the line when his friends have all been killed and he alone remains, standing defiant against the National Guard. He was prepared to die for his friends and countrymen. Of course, he was joined by Grantaire in his last moments, holding his hand as they were both shot. Enjolras knew he was dead.
That was, until he wakes up in a bed that is not his, in a room that is not his, and in a time period that is definitely not his. His old friends are alive and well, but Enjolras seems to be the only one who remembers their failed revolution.
Or: Enjolras is shot at the barricades on that day in 1832, but wakes up in the future with no memorizes of a life there.
