Everyone knows the legend of Master Merry Brandybuck the Magnificent, the brave hero who rode alongside the Lady Éowyn, the hobbit who drank of the ent-draught and became one of the tallest in history, the young esquire of Rohan who was honored before many.
The name of young Peregrin Took is celebrated in history as well. The Thain of the Shire like his father before him, he became the military leader of the Shire. He was notable for his deeds alongside his cousin Merry during the War of the Ring, when he became a Guard of the Citadel under Denethor II and was knighted by King Elessar and granted leave to return home to the Shire with Merry, Samwise Gamgee, and Frodo Baggins, the Ringbearer.
But all in all, they are still only young hobbits now, barely more than boys in the reckoning of their people, fond of causing mischief and finding trouble. These great heroes are still the adorable troublemakers we laugh with and smile over.
As there are two sides to every coin, both Merry and Pippin have sides.
Maybe you should find what they are.
