Medieval soldiers pour out of the dome, along with fantasy minotaurs and centaurs; they start attacking everyone they can find. The United States quickly overpowers the invaders only to discover a portal that leads to another world filled with fantasy creatures and magic.

Captain Henry Donnager expected a quiet career babysitting a dusty relic in Area 51. But when a test unlocks a portal to a world of knights and magic, he's thrust into command of Alpha Team, an elite unit tasked with exploring this new realm. Holding onto an enigmatic heirloom that used to belong to his grandfather, he pleads for help to flee the battlefield and elude the British soldiers who are in pursuit of him. Nearly about to be shot to death by British bullets, the intriguing object contained mystical power that, when activated, carried him into an enchanting collection of enchanted lands and away from the horrific presence of war.
