And as the perpetrator hides within the millions of people who inhabit the City, the task of finding this murder falls to Inspector Samuel B Fraser. Aided by a grateful Bureau of Oversight, his investigation will reach deep into the mysteries that brought a young man to the madness of desperation, and beyond into secrets that some powers would rather stay buried. Night marches on the Everburning City. The life-killing mist enshrouding the world, the Gloam, clings to the walls. Golems, towering monsters of stone, shake the earth as they march. And the dead rise again, puppeteered by some distant, titanic power. For Corporal Valen Redgrave, on the watch at the outermost walls of the City, the night marks the end of the military life he has known. The idyllic simpering of the watch has ended, and Valen finds himself the pillar upon which his companions' courage rests. For Gwendolyn Aranhall, stewarding a work rehabilitation camp for youth guilty of petty crimes, the night heralds the dismantling of everything she has known. As the Gloam claims the world around her, and she becomes the last thing standing between children and monsters, she finds in herself a heart unbroken by her fear. And that resilience will see darker responsibilities laid upon her. For Crafter Olivia Polden, the fire she commands and the red coat she wears represents the single greatest power in the City. Weirder of a power that could doom the City as surely as the foes marching upon it, she will stand first among those sent to halt the invasion. And only then, begin to learn how to live with despair. There is no night in the Everburning City. There can never be. ***** For four hundred years the Everburning City has withstood the advance of the life-strangling fog known as the Gloam. Its walls have held back five invasions, but on the eve of the sixth, the city's inhabitants know things have changed. Golems are coming out of the mist, and the bodies of the dead are rising at the Gloam's bidding. The city's last and most desperate line of defence comes in the form of the Crafters, individuals who can channel the power of fire, though they risk their sanity each time they do. The brightest of these valiant heroes are Tabitha a'Loria and her apprentice Gerald Reath. Risking their lives, they mount their airships, determined to save the last bastion of humanity - the Everburning City. [[word count: 100,000-150,000 words]]

{SAMPLE: Published on Amazon} Five hundred years ago, humanity's freedom died. When the Greek Gods and Goddesses were usurped from their home on Mt. Olympus, they crashed upon Earth and enslaved the human race. Children spend their existence inside prisons ran by ruthless Immortals, and upon their eighteenth birthday, they are thrown into an arena to be fought after. Once won, they are scarified with their name and short-lived identity in an unforgiving world, where there is an absence of hope for people with mortality coursing through their red veins. Servitude shackled humanity, but then a girl stood in the arena on the first summer solstice since she turned eighteen years old. A nameless girl, trembling behind the safety of her friend, landed in the Gods' worlds without knowing that she was going to be their unraveling. This wide-eyed slave, who bled two colors. One red like humans. One gold like the gods. Five hundred years ago, humanity's freedom died, but she's here to take it back. Final Book Cover commissioned by @Fantastical-Ink

*****WATTYS 2015 WINNER!***** WATTPAD STAFF PICK (9/7/15) In the end, the robots win. But you already knew that. "Everyone Died + My iPhone Stopped Working" is a collection of short interviews with some of the survivors. People who have tremendous insight into the rise of Artificially Intelligent machines or, more often, don't. Why did the robots rise up? What did they want? Why couldn't they be stopped? Can they be stopped now? Is humanity doomed? And what the f--k is going on with the squirrels? You will get the answers to all of these questions. Or some of these questions. Or none of these questions. We'll see. I will be updating this once a week until I run out of stuff that I find funny. Then I'm done.
