Erza noticed that more recently Jellal has been sneaking out of the cell at night so one day she followed him, she saw him walk up to someone. When the rampage of the new Jellal happened Erza was getting on a boat when someone called her name. Erza saw it was the person Jellal was hanging out with every night and continued to leave. The person caught up with the small boat and they escaped together... skip 10 years on a fateful day....
