Should I Stay or Should I Go? is an alternate universe set in the 80s featuring my character Rem and Reese's [@reeseweston on tumblr] character Nakoa. Rem's always been distant and secretive, and Nakoa's no detective but even he can see that something is off. Mysterious bruises appear on his skin, exhaustion lines his eyes, he's drinking more heavily than ever before, and all signs point to the stranger Rem's invited to join their band. Nakoa decides to take matters into his own hands, and more or less comes out on top. As soon as one problem is resolved, though, another surfaces. Sometimes Nakoa believes danger is as attracted to Rem as he is to it, and the more things progress the more certain Nakoa is that Rem's going to wind up severely injured or dead.

Everything has an origin story. A spooky town settled in a dried up lake bed, off the beaten path, idyllic and just this side of wrong; a town built on urban legends and folklore, on nightmares and unease, on one man's mistakes that trickle through the ages. A small town too caught up in each other's business to notice what's rising under their feet. Elijah's just lucky enough to be at the epicenter.

The world of Thamwren is on the brink of change. With its people whispering about a mysterious substance that draws out unheard of power, warring kings, and more people being sent into the Empty Sea, Thamwren is more dangerous than it's ever been. The people call it rhydos, a potion made out of the very plant that saves lives, but there are rumors that, when made correctly, it creates immense power. Fire and ice just from thought. Rhydos' introduction creates new alliances, new friends, new opportunities, but the more known about it, the more the people of Thamwren find themselves split. Rhydos threatens to break an already broken world. Why not let the chaos win?

My name is Alicia Caterina Rivera Hernandez. There are times, like now, when I turn philosophical because I had a drink too much. Times, at which I wonder if this sentence is true. It is the name that has been given to me by my parents, yes. But is it my name? How much of me is still me? Alicia Rivera is a name whispered in the streets with awe, shouted during demonstrations with pride, hissed in the government's barracks with utmost hatred. I have seen my face tattooed across the broad chests of freedom fighters, printed on banners, painted on targets at shooting ranges. My name is included in prayers and songs, in threats and in curses. Is it still my name? Is it still my face? My name is Alicia Caterina Rivera Hernandez. Depending on who you ask I'm a soldier or a murderer, an idol or a terrorist, a hero or a criminal. If you ask me, I might be a bit of all of these. But most of all, I'm tired. And a little drunk. **** A collection of pieces on Alicia Rivera, a stubborn girl with a love for the sea, brought to her knees by a cruel government, emerged as an idol of the resitance.
