Troll Jim/Changeling AU #1 in #jimxclaire as of December 27th, 2022! Jim never grew up normal. When his father left him at a young age, Stricklander, now his step-father, stepped into his life quickly. By day, he is a loving father who genuinely loves him back. But at night, he changes, literally. Jim was pulled into the world of the Darklands quickly by his step-father, who is a willing ally to Gunmar. Jim hates Gunmar, and is incredibly disappointed in his father for getting his mother and him caught up in Darkland business. But nonetheless, as the years went by and Jim grew older, he was fed lies and whispers of terror into his head. By the time he turned 12, Jim hated humanity completely. With no way to set Jim on his true path as their world's trollhunter, the universe goes haywire until it creates a solution. Enter Claire, who is chosen as the temporary Trollhunter until Jim can step forward and claim her place. Her mission? Defeat Gunmar and set the paths right once more, convincing Jim to side with humanity and take his place as the rightful Trollhunter. Now both at 15, Jim and Claire's worlds will collide, and the battle over their hearts will ensue. Jim is trying his hardest not to fall for his enemy (not really but the effort is there). Claire is trying to protect her heart as well. It's an emotional rollercoaster for these two kids, and neither of them knows how it will end. When Jim Lake Jr. was forced to reverse time because of the costly victory they achieved against the Arcane Order, he was determined to give his friends a better future. He had hoped to do things his way, but when a certain Master Wizard shows up unexpectedly, things are bound to go wrong. What's even more surprising is when the people of Arcadia find a certain sword that is all too familiar to Jim, he is thoroughly vexed on how it got there. The nail in the coffin is when Jim has visions of said sword in a different color scheme, armor in the same color scheme and Toby dying over and over. Jim, who is quite exhausted, just wants his friends to have a future where they're all happy but to do just that.... He'll have to uphold his destiny.... One. Last. Time. This fic takes place after the Rise of The Titans movie end. SPOILERS for those who haven't seen it yet!! . . . As far as Jim was concerned, things were going well! Well, they were until Merlin showed up and started lecturing him on messing with time when he was trying to talk to Claire who was clueless about trolls or anything else. Jim really didn't want Toby or anyone to find out about the future, it wouldn't happen so they don't need to carry that burden besides him. Not that they would remember. Right? Wrong. Things certainly didn't improve when Jim realizes he is slowly turning back into a troll! What will his friends do when they remember the future? What will they do when they realize he's becoming a troll? What will Jim do? Will he become? Read to find out. - yes this is my very creative take on what happens after Toby picks up the amulet, I think its a pretty good story so far!
