Coraline Beauflair, a 15 year old orphan, is taken away along with her enemy, Tamaura Elnaere, to a top-secret military camp testing on supernatural forces. Both are believed to be part of the species "Nira" and are in the camp to be tested on and later executed. Luckily for them, there's a raid on the camp by the Niras and they're rescued just in the nick of time! However, once they get to the Nira's woods and settle down, Cora is left with more questions than she had before... How long had all this been going on? If her parents were Niras, could their deaths have been something more than a robbery gone wrong? Did she have powers of her own? The war between Humans and Niras was only just starting but with Cora constantly feeling a presence of growing evil, could it be they're fighting the wrong war?
