Watson Young has always been a bright kid, no one could deny that, but even the most intelligent people can make the dumbest mistakes. Keep the dumbest secrets hidden. Watson was rather good at that, considering that no one knows about the stuff he deals with at home. Elijah Andrews, one of the wealthiest kids in the school, but doesn't necessarily describe Elijah, no, that describes his financial state. Elijah's not stupid, he knows his friends are pretty fake, seen the drooling stare with money in their eyes, blinding them from seeing Elijah as something more than walking money. Elijah had a busy schedule, which was probably why he never noticed Watson, the small cello player in the school's orchestra. He never saw the guy who sat in the back of his classes, never speaking a word to everyone. My dad is the football coach of Elwood High. He's won nearly every single game for every year he has worked there. He's muscular, intelligent and popular. He had everything. It started when I spilled coffee all over the football quarterback-Derek Williams. He's a nice guy-for a football player. But I absolutely hate him with every fiber of my being. If there was one thing my father wanted from his son-well it would be all of him. He's athletic, smart, good looking, and funny. You don't get much better than that. And my father tells me. Everyday. But here comes another problem. I'm gay and my father doesn't know. He would probably hate me, or blame my non-athleticism on some stupid stereotype on my sexuality. No, hiding this from my dad was never really issue. I was good at keeping secrets, probably better than I should have been. The issue you may ask? Well his name was Derek. His father, Pastor Ivy, ensures this. His life purpose will be to serve the Lord and nothing else. A purpose that Luke believes is the right way. What else would there be to life? He hadn't questioned this until he met Gabriel, a man who was the complete opposite of him. A man who was strong in his sense of self. He hasn't said a word in years... His voice though, is a work of art............ I was inspired to write this when I read about a chorus in Australia which is made up of stroke victims. Although most of them can speak some and singing is a way to help improve their speech, there are some individuals who can sing but not speak at all. I hope you enjoy the story.
