Margot Veil doesn't do chaos. Ten years. Three Grammy nominations. One ex-husband who left her for a 25-year-old pop star and somehow made it her scandal. She's fine. She's been fine for two years. She has the press junkets to prove it. Zoe Parish doesn't do apologies. She dated the wrong man. She ended it. The internet decided the rest. She's over it. She's been over it since before it was even over. When their label forces them into a studio together - six weeks, one song, smile for the cameras - they agree on exactly one thing: This is the worst idea anyone has ever had. Margot is thirty-eight and has spent two years rebuilding herself into something untouchable. Zoe is twenty-eight and has spent two years pretending she doesn't care what anyone thinks. They have nothing in common. Except the same ex. The same industry. The same hollow feeling when they listen back to their own music. And, apparently - the same voice, when they're not trying to kill each other. Some frequencies you can't unhear. Some harmonies find you whether you want them to or not. overtones | enemies to lovers | age gap | f/f | music industry | slow burn

Roommates to enemies to ... something more? **** When Eilidh moved in with Sabrina, she hadn't expected she'd grow to hate her. But, a little over half a year into their lease, and she can't help it. She hates so much about Sabrina: her stupid silver spoon life and her refusal to be grateful towards her family, her messiness, the long list of men she has over to their apartment. She's at her breaking point, and she needs Sabrina to go home to visit her family in Plum Bank, or she's going to lose her mind. And then Sabrina (arguably sweet, maybe silly, entirely unserious Sabrina, who may or may not be aware of Eilidh's feelings towards her) can't get her car to start, and for some reason, Eilidh compulsively offers to drive her home for the holidays. What's worse than living with a horrible roommate? Try being snowed in with her - and her entire family.

When Charlie Miller loses her job the week before both her roommates move to California, she decides it's time to get out of Texas. But with her bank account embarrassingly empty and her newly divorced parents living thousands of miles apart, she doesn't know where to go. And then she remembers Fisher. The small lakeside town in Idaho where she spent every summer until she was eighteen at her uncle's cabin. It's the last place she was truly happy, so the day Gaby and Tay move out, Charlie packs up her car and embarks on the 1,800-mile drive. She has no idea what to expect when she gets there: her uncle sold the cabin six years ago, after all, and the last time she was there she was surrounded by her cousins. This time around she is alone, and she is lonely. When she revisits the old cabin, it's pure nostalgia. Until she is caught by the neighbor. Who just happens to be the most beautiful woman Charlie has ever seen. She is smitten, instantly, and all of a sudden her trip to Fisher has a purpose. The only problem: Lou is almost twenty years older, she has a teenage daughter, and Charlie's pretty sure she's straight. But the more time they spend together, the less sure Charlie is, and when a freak event throws them together, there's only one way to find out. After all, she's only here for two weeks and then she has to figure her life out. She has nothing left to lose. © Elle Carrigan 2023

They didn't speak. Didn't count steps. They just... moved. Her hand on Aleah's waist. Aleah's fingers brushing her wrist. One step forward. Two back. Turn. There was no rhythm but them. No choreography but instinct. No noise except the beat of Niki's heart and the slow, sure way Aleah never looked away. At the end, they didn't stop moving. They just slowed. Held on. And didn't let go.... When a salsa class throws two stubborn women into each other's rhythm, the sparks fly, the friends meddle, and the footwork gets a whole lot more complicated. A queer romantic slow-burn full of witty banter, found family, accidental eye contact, and the kind of tension you can't dance your way out of. Author's Note: The story is mainly in Niki's POV, but changes in between as per the story requirement.

"No... it's just... I don't want to date some random girl, Olivia." "Good," she says, her voice back to normal. "I wouldn't want you to either. We've established what you're looking for: you want a really close friend, that knows you really well, who you trust and are comfortable with, and for those feelings of friendship to grow into something more. You aren't going to get that with a random girl, or guy for that matter." I sigh. "You're right. That's what I do want. It's what I had." I wipe my eyes. "I know sweetie. And all of us loved that for you." Grabbing a tissue, I blow my nose. I think of Danny every day; I love that Liv indulges me, but then I know she really cared for him too. Like me, she's an only child: Danny was her brother from another mother. She smiles at me warmly on the screen. "You can have that again, you know," she says softly. "But how? Who else could come close? The only other person is..." I gesture towards her, "but it's a dream, Olivia, a fantasy." "There's nothing wrong with trying to make your fantasies come true," Olivia says. "Hmmmmm." Something about the way she says that makes me wonder. "Anyway," I say, "this is all moot. You're in Brighton. Ergo, I can't date you. So... what are we even talking about?" "So, what you're saying is that if either you moved to Brighton or I moved to Bristol, you would date me." She's not going to let this drop, I can tell. "Fine," I say, "if that was the case, I would date you."
