(ONE-SHOT) Edward knew that he had slight... Affections, for the taller, black haired, male. He didn't understand what these... affections, as he called it, was exactly. But he liked to think that he was going to work it out in his mind eventually, which wasn't likely. "Afternoon." Ed greeted distastefully. "What did you want?"

Something wasn't right here. The darkhaired man sat,oddly silent and nervous,beside the door of the hospital room,obsidian eyes narrowed with no hope of determining his thoughts. After what felt like hours,the blonde turned his golden gaze on his superior,"Roy..oi,bastard,what's wrong?" Silence. The boy squirmed uncomfortably,jumping as Roy stood from the chair and strode towards the bed. The older man leaned over his subordinate,eyes hidden under raven locks and shunning the emotion into a corner. His face descended on Edward's,closing the distance until their lips connected in a deep,passionate kiss. "Mmh..nngh," Ed gasped softly,breaking away and shivering at the half mast look in Roy's eyes. "Ed," Roy licked Edward's lips,groaning quietly at the sweet tang of the blonde,"E-Ed.."

Burns. Fire is something that Roy Mustang has been forced to grow much too accustom to. He's seen it kill and torture, often by his own hand. He was named a "hero" for the blood the Ishval war placed on his hands, but that isn't enough to ease the guilt that plagues him. The Flame Alchemist still finds a way to carry on his military duties though, moving through his job with an air of arrogance and calmness as he tries to hide how much he is hurting. One other State Alchemist always finds a way to get under his skin though. Equally as over confident as the Colonel himself, Edward Elric has a temper just as flammable to hide the demons of his own past. Their more alike than they care to admit, and could be exactly what the other needs, if only one would drop their pride long enough to admit it.

Ed and Roy have worked together for a long time, and Ed always finds himself irritated with Roy and knows he hates him. But when Ed and Al go away for a while to stay with Winry, Ed can't stop thinking about the Flame Alchemist. Is it just because he's not used to being annoyed after seeing Roy nearly every day for so long? Or is there something more...?
