The war is over and people are able to live not worrying about being killed in the Hunger Games but they now all grieve over loved, ones who were lost. It's been months since the rebellion and Katniss is still trying to mend herself. She feels alone and on the break of no longer living. That is until a familiar face slowly brings her back and she learns that life isn't always cruel, her world, is changing for the better.

Katniss Everdeen lives with her mother and sister, her father had tragically died in a mine accident which left them bankrupt and her mother needs to always work every shift she can get. Peeta Mellark is Katniss's best friend and has been there from the start, when Peeta takes Katniss to Prom they do a little bit more than dancing.

This story is set in the 1950s. Katniss, daughter of Atohi and Camilla Everdeen. When Katniss falls pregnant with her boyfriend, Peeta Mellark's, baby. The Hunger Games and the war are over and Panem is at peace once again. Katniss Everdeen is left in District 12 without her mother, her old friend Gale or her dear sister Prim. She is left, broken and with nothing left to live for until one day Peeta Mellark arrives back in the Victors Village. This is a fanfic about what I think would happen to Katniss and Peeta after the war in Mockingjay.
